My approach to photography is rooted in a desire to illustrate the emotions and stories of my clients in a way that reflects the beautiful honesty of their experiences. I encourage my clients to embrace their story and in doing so, their truest selves are reflected.
I am grateful to be present during some of the most important events of my clients’ lives. My work is comprised of a generous mix of traditional portraiture and spontaneous photojournalistic photographs. I have a love affair with a dreamy, impressionistic style– reminiscent of the way we remember events in our minds.
My perspective is heavily influenced by my time as a marine mammal trainer. I spent 7 beautiful years as a student learning life lessons from dolphins, seals, sea lions, penguins, and polar bears. During this time I developed a keen eye for understanding each animal I cared for. Every one unique, with their own joys and preferences. This skill has suited me well in my career as a photographer- understanding each client’s individuality is my true expertise.
When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I enjoy running, yoga, skiing and mountain biking- being outside any time of year feeds my soul.
